Discipleship Ministry
Discipleship Ministry Vision Statement:
“Discipling all generations to grow together in love and character, transformed by the indwelling Spirit of God, and by the Word of God.”
At Byerland, the Discipleship Ministry seeks to provide opportunities that will foster transformation for all generations. We desire to share God’s Word and to encourage people of all generations to delight in it so that they may be fruitful for the Lord, growing closer to Him and doing the work of His Kingdom.
Sunday School:
Beginning at age 3, children and teens gather in age appropriate classes to learn Bible stories, memorize scripture and apply what they are learning to everyday life. The children begin the Sunday school hour with a time of large group singing.

Children’s Ministry:
“Anyone who welcomes a little child like this on my behalf welcomes me, and anyone who welcomes me welcomes not only me but also my Father who sent me.” (Mark 9:37)
At Byerland Church, we desire to show children the love of Christ, through teaching and caring for them.
- Each Sunday morning, nursery care is available for infants and toddlers under age 3 during Sunday School as well as during the worship service.
- During the Worship service, the children are with their parents for the singing time. After singing, Children’s Church is available for Preschool (age 3 to Pre-K) and Elementary (Kindergarten to Grade 3). Children’s Church includes biblical teaching with crafts, games and other activities to reinforce the Bible lesson.
Junior Youth (Grades 4 and 5):
Junior Youth meet the first Sunday of every month during the Worship Service after singing time. They are encouraged to learn more about God, Christ and the Holy Spirit. They are learning about how to study the Bible on their own, walk out their faith in a daily way and how they can grow as disciples of Christ.
The Junior youth group also meets for an activity evening once a quarter. The evening typically includes an activity (e.g. game night, Barn party, etc), food and a time of Bible study.
