What should you expect on a Sunday morning at Byerland Church? Well, you should expect to feel welcomed once you walk through our doors! When you arrive, you will be welcomed by one of our greeters, who will assist you with any questions you may have, and direct you to where you need to go. Below, you will find some answers to some of those questions you may already have about what to expect on a Sunday at Byerland Church….

Worship

Every Sunday Byerland church opens its doors at 9:00am to gather together to study God’s word. Bible Study & Sunday school will be followed by a service starting at 10:10-11:15am. Our Sunday service begins with a time of expressive worship & praise using a combination of contemporary and traditional music interspersed with scripture and prayer. Our accompaniment is piano, guitars, bongo drum, and occasionally flute and/or violin. This is then followed by a special message that is preached by one of our pastoral team. Attire varies from blue jeans to business casual.

Sunday School & Adult Bible Study

Sunday School classes and Adult Bible Study Groups meet from 9:00 – 10:00am each Sunday for practical Bible study, small group discussion and prayer.

Adult Bible Study Groups meet weekly to take what the Bible teaches and talk about how it affects everyday life.  The groups provide a private space for adults to share the joys and struggles of everyday life as we grow in love and character and are transformed by the word of God. Groups meet on both the lower and upper levels.

Beginning at age 3, children, and teenagers gather in age appropriate classes to learn Bible stories, memorize scripture, and apply what they are learning to everyday life.  The children begin the Sunday School hour with a time of large group singing. All Sunday School classes are located on the lower level (basement) of the church.

Parents will be instructed to sign their children IN & OUT of  Sunday School. This is part of our Safe Church Program that has been implemented by our Child Protection Team. All adults who participate or interact with children have passed a thorough back ground check. Your child’s safety and welfare is our number one priority here at Byerland Church!

***Please feel free to print off and complete the Child Registration & Nursery Registration Forms that are attached at the bottom of this page. Bring this completed form with you on Sunday to allow our Children’s Ministry help welcome you and your family to Byerland Church!***

Nursery (Infant to 3 years):

With our staffed nursery, we allow families with children under the age of 3 to also participate in adult Bible study classes! Your young children can be dropped off at our staffed nursery between the hours of 9:00-11:15am (during Sunday School and Worship Service).

Parents will be instructed to sign their children IN & OUT of Nursery. Once your child is signed in, you will receive a “name badge” that identifies you as the parent of that child. The “name badge” must be turned in on arrival to pick up your child. This is part of our Safe Church Program that has been implemented by our Child Protection Team. • During the worship service , the children are with their parents for the singing time. After singing, Children’s Church is available for Preschool (age 3 to Pre-K) and Elementary (Kindergarten to Grade 3).  Children’s Church includes biblical teaching with crafts, games, and other activities to reinforce the Bible lesson.
  • Junior Youth (Grades 4 and 5) meet the first Sunday of every month during the worship service after singing time.  They are encouraged to learn more about God, Christ, and the Holy Spirit.  They are learning about how to study the Bible on their own, walk out their faith in a daily way, and how they can grow as disciples of Christ.
